i heard it takes practically days to paint such stunning designs on someones skin for marriages

Its takes any where between 20 min to 2 hrs :)
once the artist puts the paste from a tube on to your hand ... in what ever design ... they let it dry for about an hr. after an hr you wash your hands and that's when you see it for the 1st time.
they say the darker it looks on your hand the more your mate will love you :)

Wow ^_^ though I rarely have much to speak about with photography, this photo looked particularly interesting, because of the aperature you used the image feels really murky as if the hands are appearing out water or smoke..and kinda plays with my eyes...haha, great shot!

The photographer in me likes the focal point of the photo.. the narrow DoF. The rest of me has never seen this practice and wishes it was less narrow. What a beautiful pose and what a beautiful art. The time involved in these details truly amazes me.

At first I thought this was gonna be some gory shot.... the thumb didn't do it justice..... but damn when you get into the shot it's amazing..... beautiful focus!!! Is this tradition at weddings there????
